Clip
Art Tutorial
Need
advice on how to use the clip art found on SillyArt?
Well, hopefully this will be helpful to you.
What
Can I do with clip art?
You can
use clip art in your documents or web pages. Documents can be made with Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, or any other Office suites. Almost all allow clip art to be
inserted. You can download all the clip art you want free off of SillyArt.com or
find it in many other sites around the web. Clip Art has many formats (.jpg,
.gif, .bmp, .tiff , and many others), but on SillyArt I use the .gif format.
How do
I get clip Art?
To get
your clip art off of SillyArt, just go to the image and right click on it.
Choose the 'Save image As' for Netscape or 'Save As' for Internet Explorer from
the menu that pops up and save the image somewhere on your hard drive. You'll
now have the clip art on your computer. If you use the images for your web page,
remember not to link directly to the image on SillyArt. You'll need to download
it and sent the image to your server.
What
can you use clip art for?
Well, you can use it for presentations, web pages, cards, manuals, invitations,
and much more!
How do
I use it?
For most
Microsoft Office applications, you can pull down the 'Insert' Menu.. then select
'Picture' and then 'From File'. The clip art will be placed where your cursor is
in the document. You'll see a box around it. You can adjust the size and shape
of the image by clicking and pulling on the corners.
To use in
a web page, use the following line in your html code:
<IMG SRC="Image name.gif">
There are
many other programs you can insert clip art into. Most have a 'Insert' Dropdown
menu. From there you can usually select 'Image'.
I hope
this helped. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
